Absolutely ludicrous idea, we already have a by pass, although i would imagine the purpose of a by pass is to allow traffic to flow, which ours most definitely does not!
Where has all the money taken by the council from developers gone? Was a portion of this not meant to go to improving our southern by pass? No? You decided to spend it on that useless bit of road outside of Tescos! Genius.

Seems ridiculous considering chichester already has a bypass. Better structured roundabouts would do a lot, like Emsworth has.

Lots of options to improve existing A27 before desecrating countryside and environment by even considering a northern bypass, let alone going ahead with such an option.

No bypass it will ruin so much. Bridges or wider lanes for left hand turn off may ease problems at roundabouts.

Myself and my family are all very concerned that if this was to go ahead, the proposals will desecrate the city, surrounding area, and the overall environment, that we all have a duty to protect! The council must represent the people of Chichester, that is their duty when they are voted in by us, the people. Furthermore it is clear that Northern Bypass is not the solution to solve traffic problems. Instead upgrade the A27, do not agree to building the bypass, the damage would be irreversible.

I would prefer OnLine option, using underpasses rather than flyovers if possible.

What a terrible desecration of a beautiful area this road scheme will be

Why plan a bypass to facilitate more vehicle movements when those already undertaken have helped create the deluge which fell on Cumbria and the North this past weekend, breaking all previous rainfall records?

Build flyovers. On the existing bypass. You do not need to be a highways expert to work out this will solve most of the problems around Chichester.

The money spent in the last few years has not reduced the traffic. The improvements should have included underpasses as in Brugges which is also potentially on land subject to flooding.

I oppose strongly to the proposal of a bypass.

What about under-passes?

The solution is surely to improve the junctions on the existing A27.
A reduced traffic flow/speed compared with a Northern bypass is a small price to pay to maintain the beautiful and tranquil countryside for future generations. The damage caused by the Northern bypass would be irreversible.

Clearly a northern bypass is unacceptable but so is anything that increases traffic on the existing route.

We need a solution where the problem is. Let's make it an excellent and enduring solution that allows residents of the manhood peninsula to get out and about.
NO to northern by pass
