A northern bypass would do little to help congestion - flyovers at the roundabouts on the existing road would help far more.

A series of flyovers at roundabouts on the existing road would be cheaper and quicker to construct rather than building a new road.

I believe this to be an ill considered route as not only will it decimate the landscape, it will have inconceivable economical consequences on local tourism and industry small and large

As Lavant resident I fully oppose the northern bypass plans. I believe it does not offer solution to the root cause and would destroy the countryside.

The beautiful area around Goodwood is enjoyed by everyone who has ever visited or lives here - it would be criminal to spoil it - please let this be considered very carefully.

I'd rather have fields and animals.

the proposed northern route would do irreparable damage to the South Downs and Chichester ruining many historic sites and villages - it would cost a fortune, take years to build and cause total disruption to the people in the surrounding area for years. the A27 is only congested at certain times of the day and this could be alleviated at far less cost by improving access to the current road.

The northern by pass through Lavant and Goodwood which are in the National Park, will be catastrophic for the area of renowned beauty, to carve it up will be regretted. Goodwood events and the airport bring a vast amount of business to the area

Let's find the best solution for Chichester's road system rather than the quickest to build. We live in a wonderful city and we need to make the right decisions to enable it to grow while retaining its unique character and identity

The A27 needs improving by underpasses and/or flyovers. This would leave the roundabouts, which the local people use freer and the congestion would diminish. A new road would be vastly expensive, ruin the local country side, impact on the South Downs National Park, and not benefit the local people who move around the city. There is a trunk road in existence: it needs upgrading not re-routing.

A northern bypass would be too close to the National Park boundary and spoil southern views from the downs including from the trundle.

I have recently moved to Lavant from west Wales and appreciate countryside & proximity to Chichester. Traffic is a major issue but a northern bypass would destroy this village turning it into another place to drive through. Improvements need to be made to existing roads & buses extended into the evenings and on Sundays to discourage car users! I am involved with the local neighbourhood plan and as a community we want to maintain and improve Lavant.
