We need rail, not more roads. This is ridiculous. Do we want a world for our children or not, because the way this Government and local politicians carry on, one's tempted to think they want more floods, to encourage climate change.

Chichester needs to be looked after for future generations. Allowing a northern expressway will not solve existing problems and must not be allowed to happen.

I cannot think of anything worse than a northern by-pass of the A27, It simply must not happen, cutting through the countryside spoiling what has been there for ever, My partner has lived here all his life and the Trundle and surrounds have played an important role in his life and mine- so it's a big NO from us.

Chichester deserves bettet campaign should be allowed to speak at a Chichester District Council meeting concerning the proposed northern A27 route.

Beautiful country side been taking up by more traffic & roads & just spoiling our country side. & The loss of open land & nature.
Not to mention in my view just causing more traffic problems. Chichester Town will be in the middle of a huge roundabout /traffic circle .

What devastating news to what was supposed a treasured and protected piece of country side. It is not often that, so close to your home, you get to enjoy such glorious sites presented in Lavant. I suggest that this is really the time for people to come together to protect would should be protected and preserve what must be preserved. Not only for the irreversible damage it will do to the countryside and wildlife that reside, but for also the residence who have chosen at great expense to live in such an amazing location. Let’s put it another way, Chichester County council make it near on impossible to ever consider building even a residential property where the proposed road would go, now there is consideration for this? Unbelievable! Think about other roads like the A3(m) and M4 corridor which travel so closely to people’s homes and cause untold misery, yet without learning from our mistakes, we are about to embark on yet another that ruins so much of Fishbourne, West Broyle, Lavant, Goodwood, Strettingon and Boxgrove. Furthermore, how can we, in times that have proven to be so economically challenging, just abandon the existing A27 to spend multimillions on a new road. For it to be dismissed based upon the potential disruption that it will cause is totally insulting. Such disruption is for the benefit of all that use the A27 and would obviously only be for a limited time. However, once completed, the problem should be resolved. Building a new bypass will not solve the problems inherent with the existing road, yet cause untold disruption and permanent damage to the north of Chichester.

Yellow hammers, stag beetles, kestrels, kingfishers, bullfinches, fielders and many more species seen in these fields. Some on the endangered list - a good reason not to have yet another bypass

Chichester will be surrounded by noise (already noisy from the Southern A27. The existing A27 should be improved. There are nesting Yellow Hammers in the area and also Stag Beetles - both endangered species.

A northern bypass will encircle Chi with major roads, impacting hugely upon the city's open aspect to the north, the beautiful Lavant Valley and the Downs. It will also define a boundary up to which to build housing.
The right and proper answer is to improve the A27 however difficult that may be.

Not an acceptable option - upgrade the current A27 (or introduce tolls to reduce traffic).
