Need to see the costings of upgrading the existing A27 to support our arguments. Very unhappy re the 6 week Consultation period & lack of transparency overall..

An idea for another era: to abandon an existing through road (which clearly needs upgrading however) which is a four lane dual carriageway in favour of a new road though virgin country thus spreading noise and built up environment towards the national park.

It is beautiful landscape that will be ruined along with minimal help to local residents

Chichester does deserve better, the North proposal would ruin the wider area of the countryside we live in

Please Don't ruin the beauty we are so lucky to have around us!

The northern plan seems simplistic and poorly considered.

Enough concrete! Improve public transport instead...

A northern route will not solve the congestion problem, just destroy the peaceful countryside around our beautiful city.

Improve through traffic flow and intersections by upgrading the existing A2 around Chichester. A northern route would do NOTHING to improve Bognor or Witterings junctions whilst destroying land on the fringe of a National Park. Invest in a proper solution, not a cheap and cynical lash-up.- in my opinion.

Ridiculous idea! Improve and build upon what we've already implemented!

I don't understand why they're not just putting a couple flyovers. That's all it needs.

I am opposed to the "Northern route" which would impact badly on villages surrounding Chichester ( East Ashling, Lavant,Halnaker & Boxgrove) , their surrounding countryside . At present local people most badly affected by traffic congestion are from the South of Chichester. A Northern route would give little benefit to them. Improve the current A27 by flyovers. Its been done in other cities without too much disruption

Flyovers would be a better solution

Chichester would not be the place it is if it was an island in the middle of a sea of roads which it would effectively be if a northern bypass was built

Leave well alone in this wonderful part of our countryside. It is a special place and requires special care and attention.

Build a two tier road along the existing bypass. Many major cities such as Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur have such a system for through traffic. This will not imping on views of the city as they are non-existant from the A27 anyway.

The bypass will not work. Its the a27 that needs improvement. Better long term solution.

NO TO A NORTHERN BYPASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A new road will do nothing for the existing bottlenecks on the current A27. Let's have some underpasses and/or flyovers, like the A3 around Kingston, to keep the traffic moving.
