I fully endorse the view that upgrades to the existing route is the only viable option

Upgrade the existing routes.

There HAS to be a better solution than destroying countryside that will never be replaced. Expansion of the existing carriageway has to be more economic - its the roundabouts that cause the problem - why not flyover?

This will cause so much disturbance to the small city and its residents. Including myself who has chosen to live in the countryside on the outskirts, away from such traffic. You will also be seriously hindering the landscape effecting our greatest countryside asset-Goodwood race track. It will become like Oxford, we want to keep it small! This so called traffic is only by passing Chichester bringing no money into the town yet it's the residents that have to take the brunt. Why not help folk living in Bognor Regis trying to get to work/school into Chichester in the morning, queuing longer than necessary to let this traffic through!

Please don't do this to my beloved Chichester.

Why waste money on planning a new route and causing mayhem to an area that has no major roads, why not just upgrade the existing A27 !

Why would you want to put a major road through this beautiful area when there is already a by..pass on the south side of town. Improve the existing road so when the m27 is joined up from Arundel it can 'do it's job' !! I was born and raised in Chichester my parents farmed in the area and I've lived here 95% of my life .. Why do we have to put up with this scar on our countryside just because of the car!! I drive and would sooner wait in ques and keep the countryside free of new roads when there is already a road that with extra investment would be fit for purpose !!!

I strongly oppose any plan to damage the area north of Chichester by building a bypass..

The proposal for a northern bypass around Chichester would severely damage the countryside and surrounding rural communities. The existing M27 should be improved instead.

There is is a need for clarity of intent by the Highways Agency

It would be much more effective if all interested parties work together to find the right solution. Chichester does deserve better.

About time. Too many new builds. 1 new home = 2 more cars. I can't breath in this city. Time to move out after 55 years!

More new tarmac/roads means more surface water run off and flooding risk! Leave the greenfields to soak it up! Let's improve the existing southern by-pass road rather than build yet another!

For the conservation of a precious piece of countryside this must be opposed.

Strongly object to a northern bypass for all the reasons stated

This doesn't seem like a sensible solution to me. Invest in improving the existing road.
