Chichester Deserves Better

A northern route will not solve Chichester's problems; it will decimate delightful countryside.

No Northern Bypass! You will destroy area that makes Chichester so beautiful when you could just improve what is already there.

We need an improved A27 that benefits the whole of Chichester and not just the through traffic. What happens when this fast flowing traffic reaches Arundel??

Improve and upgrade the existing A27 but stay as close to the current route as possible.

This scheme to build a Northern By Pass would be disaster for Chichester and our wonderful surrounding countryside .Improve the A 27 which would make economic sense.

The lack of public consultation of this plan is terrible. The lack of consultation seems to be an all too common occurrence now with authorities in this area of Chichester. This plan will have an enormous impact on the countryside and the residents alike.

It will cause so much damage to the countryside, and who is going to pay for it ,yes the builders that build more houses on the side of it !!!

I oppose the northern bypass

I work in Chichester and use Goodwood circuit several times a year. I would hate to see the circuit, estate or surrounding area effected.

There can be no excuse for damaging the views and environment of the south downs when the existing Chichester A27 bypass could be developed to solve the traffic problem.

Outrageous plan that will destroy the soul of the county town of West Sussex. Replacing the roundabouts to the south of Chichester with slip roads would be alleviate traffic congestion and affect an area that is already largely ruined by the A27 anyway. Think a bit harder please before the heart of the area is destroyed forever.

One day someone will realise that continual road-building at the expense of the environment is not the answer. It is, in fact, the problem.

Absolutely opposed to the Northern route - just improve the existing bypass.

I back this petition 100%. There are also worse bottlenecks on the A27, eg Worthing, where the money should be spent in the first instance. The Highways Agency / County Council don't even have the money to maintain our existing roads properly let alone waste it on a flawed project such as the proposed Nothern Route for Chichester.
