Traffic planners can do better than plough a new road through peaceful and unspoilt countryside - where is the is the engineering skill and pride in our environment that would enhance our present road network to ensure it is fit for the next 100 years?

I am concerned that there is a lack of public information available re possibility of a northern bypass route around Chichester. I would strongly oppose such a route .

A Northern bypass would go through, and probably destroy, several areas of natural beauty and wildlife habitats. It would not address many of Chichester's traffic problems. I would like to see pressure to get the planners to concentrate on an alternate option to the south of the city

New roads just bring more traffic. Get people out of cars! Roads should NOT be built in National Parks. This proposal affects people all over the UK, not just locally.

You can't build on a flood plain! That goes for houses too... I have personal prior experience of flooding, the area cannot cope as it exists, it won't be any better with no floodplains!

The so -called expressway will bring with it the desire to re-classify parts of rural Sussex as potential building land. We will lose our little villages, which visitors to SDNP want to see & who will never be able to use the road anyway

To damage our local countryside and environment just doesn't make sense. With the intention to limit climate change making new roads is counter productive and at a time when there is no money for health and education, the idea of spending on laying steel and concrete over fields and woods is nothing short of madness.

The bypass is unnecessary and it's deployment would seriously impact both on the local environment and on the quality of life in the area.

There are much simpler remedies for the traffic congestion than putting in a new road. It hasn't helped in Bognor where the congestion is still terrible during rush hour. Chichester needs to be preserved bit the installing of a new road will juts lead to a ridiculous amount of new housing which will destroy the surrounding area.
