Improving the A27 to the South is the only option that actually benefits Chichester and the surrounding villages.

Should upgrade A27 with tunnels etc and not ruin the countryside round Goodwood

A27 should be upgraded and not devastate the countryside around Goodwood.

Chichester is already undergoing massive change with houses and flats being built everywhere. We really don't want a bypass cutting through what historic countryside is left.

investment should be made in improving existing road....as in France...underpasses allowing the main artery to flow and local traffic to flow above!

The problem is not caused by through traffic but local traffic. The damage done would be terrible. This must not be built.

Nothern bypass idea is the wrong one for so many reasons

What a shame those on the council didn't think about the infrastructure before all these houses were built so we wouldn't even have to consider devastating beautiful countryside.

No to a Northern bypass the A27 just needs improvement.

A norther bypass will seriously damage a beautiful part of West Sussex, harm that can never be undone.

Improve the route we already have with flyovers or tunnels. This would not destroy our local countryside and probably not cost as much as a new route.

All wrong for the area of outstanding beauty.

Too much countryside will be lost and the future of Goodwood motor racing could finish

A northern route will cost a vast sum of money, and serve only to diminish existing property values and upset and annoy existing residents (and voters!) With an existing road ALREADY in place, anything other than improving the existing infrastructure is nonsensical.

Improvements (flyovers and the like) should be made to the existing route. The A27 Trunk road between Folkestone & Honiton was promised over 50 years ago and has got no closer.

Chichester's heritage can only be diminished by the northern route, improvements to the existing A27 makes more sense.

Separating Chichester from the South Downs with a dual carriageway will destroy one of the things that makes the City such a special place to live. The southern options have to make more sense even if they will involve major disruption while the work is being done.

I strongly believe that the only way to bring real and lasting benefit to the traffic situation in and around Chichester is by major engineering improvements to the existing route south of the city.

We do not need a Northern Bypass! We simply need to seperate the A27 through traffic from the local traffic at Fishbourne, Stockbridge and Bognor roundabouts, the same as the Emsworth/Havant A27 traffic solution. Simple!
