Chichester Deserves Better

The A27 has to be improved with bridges and underpasses to help through traffic. Carving up more land to the North must not happen.

I am totally opposed to the plans for a northern bypass which will not resolve the problems - upgrade the A27

I use this road regularly. I appreciate that upgrading the exising road will be more complex and more disruptive, however long term we need to preserve our environment and Chichester will not benefit by being encircled by bypasses.

I opposed to the suggestions for any A27 works that a will jeopardise future areas of the national park and the already urbanised areas around sussex that are rapidly lossing there identity

It makes no sense to even consider building a road through this area when plans to build houses immediately to the north of Chichester have been stopped. The South Downs represent an important natural amenity.

We believe that the existing A27 route should be upgraded with flyovers inside of roundabouts rather than ruining the countryside on the north side of the city.

a northern by-pass is the worst possible answer & will not the solve the problem.

The proposed northern bypass will be of limited long term benefit which will threaten any chance of more worthwhile improvements to the A27 road junctions.

This will cut a great gash through the green belt north of Chichester

Building a northern bypass is a terrible idea, environmentally damaging and of very limited practical value (since most traffic is local). Improve the current A27 instead.

Systematically sort out the Roundabouts on the A27 for a solution

Friends of the Earth in Havant and East Hants deplore the potential desecration of the area and wholeheartedly support opposition..

A northern bypass is no solution at all to the current problem

This would just extend the problem and spread the noise, visual and air pollution into a complete ring around the city.

As is becoming common in govenment, open county is just a resource to be squandered to glean votes from those least effected by said loss. Let us all fight this one. We won Hindhead, we can do it.

Madness ruining the villages; improve the A27

Surely the most sensible and cot effective solution would be to upgrade the A27 - flyovers and the like.
