Something needs to be done regarding Chichester highways though this isn't it.

The Northen Bypass would take business and tourists away from the centre. And at the same time not solve any congestion difficulties. Many improvements could be made to increase the flow of traffic. I am a frequent visitor to Chichester.

Countryside is precious for the future of our children, improve the current A27

The problems are most effectively solved by widening the A27 bypass and building flyovers for local traffic

More Roads = More Traffic. You cannot keep on just moving bottlenecks a few miles. Improvements to the Bognor Roundabout would show immediate benefits.

Don't ruin the countryside to the north of Chichester. Upgrade, improve the A27. Build flyovers.

Do not destroy more countryside - improve /widen the existing A27.

We should avoid at all costs damaging the countryside when there are improvements that can be made to the existing road.

Chichester wouldbe isolated. No direct access on foot to the countryside. Huge expense compared with widening the existing A27. The environment is precious - not to be sacrificed to save a few minutes on a car journey

No, to the Northern route. It would be sacrilege. Upgrade the existing A27

This would be disasterous to the environment and the community. A far better and indeed more viable solution would be flyovers on the A27.

Need to sort out local traffic first

Traffic lights on the roundabouts S of Chichester would help residents travelling from regions like Selsey and Bognor get onto the A27 in less time I would have thought and improve safety too.

My mother is in Fishbourne and we use the A27 for important access to local facilities. It is vital that it is upgraded

I support improvements to the current A27 and do not support a new by pass to the north of the city.

William Blake wrote the words to Jerusalem whilst taking in the view of the South Downs from Lavant. Please do not spoil this incredible piece of countryside.

I have worked in Chichester and visited many times during my life. I oppose the plans for a northern bypass and support the proposals for improving the existing route in the better interests of the City and its citizens.

A new bypass to the north of the city would destroy and forever change unbelievably beautiful landscape, wildlife and historical features and restrict public amenity to the South Downs.

An upgrade of the existing A27, with flyovers at the busiest roundabouts, has to be preferable to destroying the countryside.
