The majority of the traffic problems at present are caused by traffic into the city from the South and to places such as Bognor, Witterings, Selsey, etc. Enormous amounts of money spent on a Northern by-pass would have very little effect on the present problems.

This proposed route would destroy rare unspoiled country space. Space that recent flood disasters tell us are essential to maintain. There are options, options that we recognise as being disruptive and expensive but worth it. Our government has just signed to the Paris treaty on climate change. It must show some foresight into the need for thought and planning for the future. This government has been quick to find massive resources for causes it believes are necessary - terrorism- but our land is necessary for the future prosperity of our nation.

It seems obvious to improve the existing A27 rather than carving up the beautiful landscape which runs north of our historic City f Chichester. It would be criminal to bulldoze through very old and beautiful houses and part of The South Downs National Park

I'm opposed to A27 route going northern route- will effect thousands of residents north of Chichester & spoil South Downs National Park. Ether Earl of March will close down festivals that bring millions of pounds to local economy. It's a bad bad bad idea. Just make flyovers on existing A27 route so traffic can flow straight through Chichester area. Simple solution.

I live locally and a northern bypass doesn't make any sense to me or those who I have spoken to, It would cause so much damage to this beautiful area and I don't believe it would solve the current problems of the A27.

The beautiful City of Chichester is already at risk of being spoilt with the large housing developments that have recently been approved without any regard for the impact that the additional traffic will have on the already extremely congested roads. A northern bypass will further ruin this city, and I therefore urge you to campaign for improvements to the existing A27 instead.

The A27 could be significantly improve with a flyover on each of the rounabouts around the south of the city. This would be less costly and have a lower environmental impact than a new road to the north.

I am planning to move to Chichester as it is a beautiful area for walking and nature, unlike London. Sadly a bypass would spoil the whole area. Please consider solutions better for the environment and nature conservation. Wellbeing is at least as important as transport.

Applying a bit of common sense tells you having to acquire the land to the north of Chichester and the construction of a multi-lane highway that would need a similar number of flyovers to cross 4 local roads is going to cost many millions more than building the same number of fly overs on the existing road. In addition the only route to the North must pass through the West of Chichester Strategic Development Location reducing the amount of additional local housing. Crazy that public funds are being wasted evening looking at it as an option.

I agree the current A27 is unacceptable however the overall damage caused by building a new highway through the area around north Chichester and goodwood is not the correct solution.
