Chichester Deserves Better

This does not address any of the local issues as the growth in housing would support the same levels of traffic on the A27 and would substantially harm the National Park.

This solution would solve none of the problems for the shore villages and have a substantial negative impact on the National Park.

Upgrading the existing A27 to a more useful through road, with flyovers is bound to be the most economic decision. It may present traffic challenge during its creation, but I am certain that the residents of the area would prefer the end result. Most of us want our Councillors to select the BEST choice, not the easiest to dig or engineer. Please act wisely for the long term benefit of the area.

Please realise we desperately need the A 27 improved before any Bypass is built.

We have been quite far to long

It is common sense that 4 flyovers above the 4 roundabouts around Chichester would be the most cost effective solution and if installed in a time-efficient manner would cause the least inconvenience to all concerned.

We need upgrades not despoiling more of our countryside for cars.

I fully support a NO campaign and consider fly-overs or underpasses as being a logical and long-term solution.

The fact that the construction of the current by-pass did not follow the recommended design which would have eliminated most of the flooding and congestion issues is history, however, to ignore the views and comments of a lot of residents and non residents of this valuable heritage area is a disgrace.

I agree with the comment that flyovers over the Bognor/ Chichester and other local main road roundabouts would be better & cheaper

Given that the south east of England is one of the most densely populated regions of Europe it makes sense to upgrade existing roads rather than use up more scarce land by building new ones.

Improve the roads we have now, Build flyovers over our 3 roundabouts to take the main stream of traffic,

Regular Visitor to Goodwood Estate for various reasons/activities. Would hate to see the printing wilderness tarnished by roadworks.

Strongly feel if improvements could be made at Donnington & the railway gates it would be preferable to hacking into the new country park area .

A Northern bypass would destroy one of the most beautiful parts of our country.

I entirely endorse the aims of the petition. I am not local but know the area and the traffic conditions well

I support the Chichester Deserves Better campaign in their opposition to the proposed Northern Bypass. Chichester, and its surroundings are unique. We are fortunate to live in a city with such an interesting history, with such rich culture and all at the foot of the magnificent South Downs. A northern bypass would destroy Chichesters unique character and identity, which should be preserved.

Flyovers to the existing A27 roundabouts for through traffic are a much better answer

I've been living 5 years in Sussex and spend lots of time there. Due to respect for English culture and land- scape, I am a member of National Trust and English Heritage. Change of weather all over the world related to pollution, should reduce traffic, not encourage more driving by making more motorways.
