A northern by pass will destroy the elements of the National Park around Chichester forever. Allowing this happen makes a mockery of National Park status

A northern bypass will dislocate Chichester from it's beautiful hinterland of the South Downs. Major road junctions north of the city will change the character of the land over a far greater area than just a road development. There is already an existing ribbon of tarmac and concrete which if improved would not require further loss of land.

You will destroy the unique charm of Chichester if you do this. Of course it would be nice to get round Chichrster more speedily but preserving the countryside us more important.

Once damaged this beautiful part of Sussex will never be the same again. It may be more complicated and expensive to fix the current A27 but we owe it to future generations to try.

I fully support an upgrade to the existing A27 and strongly oppose a northern bypass which will not solve any traffic problems but will certainly cause environmental, economic and scenic harm.

Chichester should be allowed to make their own decisions and not be railroaded into a poorly planned proposal that will effect the income and employment of those living in a 40 mile radius from Chichester. The government should listen to the people who would lose their jobs and have their income seriously effected by the probable closure of the Goodwood Motor Circuit.

It would be criminal to build another road through are outstanding countryside , maybe they should have though of improving the junctions on the existing bypass before spending I'm guessing over a million on a pointless footbridge at huntson roundabout as this will now hinder modifying the roundabout ! Another night bypass is not the answer

Work in and visit Chichester regularly, and walk on the downs to the north of the city.

It must be right to develop the existing southern route around Chichester rather than wreck the countryside on the edge of the National Park. It may take more money to build underpasses and flyovers but then so be it. Our children will be forever grateful.

Improvement in the traffic flow on the A27 around Chichester has been called for and has been put off for far too long. Improvements are required but this does not require the wrecking of our local countryside and our local communities by the creation of a so called Northern by-pass.
