A totally crazy idea to deface and destroy a well loved and beautiful part of the West Sussex country side forever, all for the sake of speeding up car journeys! Improve the Southern bypass...it must be possible.

A northern bypass would be a disaster for Chichester.Surely the simple answer is to Improve the southern bypass which would not cause so much damage and not affect the National Park.

Do not build a northern bypass above Chichester please - it will destroy the ambience and appeal of the city.

It seems nonsensical to me to build a new major road to the North, encircling Chichester, when there is an existing duel carriageway that can be improved. Additionally there is little to be gained by linking the A27 with the single carriageway northern routes from Chichester since the A3 and A24 are a better option for links with London / Gatwick & South East . At the same time many visitors wish to travel to the coast and it is the existing southerly A27 which will need to continue to carry this traffic.

Not a need at all - just another human desire to destroy! We can all get from A to B. We all need to relax more and realize that to keep building more and more roads is not the answer, please leave well alone. Leave the beautiful countryside as it is, leave the wildlife and us Humans who seek some space, peace and beauty - Please do not destroy it.

Chichester already has a bypass - the A27. To build another bypass to bypass the bypass is a bonkers idea. Never mind destroying the beautiful countryside which surrounds Chichester and which makes it such a unique and beautiful place to live.

Flyovers at the roundabouts on the A27 would be a far better solution. I suggest you look at A419 near Swindon's Great Western Hospital when congestion has been reduced

As a resident I feel that the existing A27 should be further developed by adding flyovers at roundabouts and widening the road as opposed to destroying the natural south downs conservation area. WSCC and Highways please use your common sense.

The link between Chichester and the Downs is precious and should not be severed. The existing road should be improved for traffic and also be environmentally improved to improve Chichester's link to the south
