Improve the southern bypass. Do not destroy the countryside north of Chichester.

It is vital that the long term interests of the community are preserved. To take a decision hastily on a northern by-pass would be a disaster. The options for the northern by-pass must be rejected.

Why destroy the connection of Chichester with the South Downs when there is an existing road to the south which presumably could be upgraded?

I had a letter published in the Observer today, wondering why flyovers had not been mentioned. These would solve the roundabout problem. A northern route would be a disaster!

Flyovers at existing bypass junctions should be the only answer

Improvements should be made to the existing A27 using underpasses or flyovers at the overcrowded roundabouts not spoiling the beautiful country between the new National Park and the equally beautiful and historic city of Chichester. This has been done sucessfully elsewhere inthe U.K and the U.S.A.

the loss of the goodwood festival of speed would constitute a massive loss in the classic car scene and i mean a MASSIVE loss as it is a MAJOR part of the classic car scenario in the UK

please do not spoil Chichester and the South Downs with a northern bypass. Improvements and upgrades to the existing A27 will benefit the City and surrounding area.

These proposals will have a negative impact on the area as a whole with little material gain. I strongly propose this application.
Forget about a northern by-pass, just improve the current one and put traffic lights at the major roundabouts. Simples!

If a Nothern bypass is built, then in addition to the destruction of the approach to the South Downs , one of the most successful local businesses will be damaged beyond recovery. I am talking about the Goodwood Estate and it many business enterprises. The effect on the Rolls Royce automobile factory would also be disastrous and could well lead to the loss of many jobs.

I would like to protest strongly against plans for a northern bypass which I believe will damage the area for ever.

Totally inappropriate. Do not ruin our beautiful countryside in a misguided hope that the problem will be solved. It won't .

Can't believe a bypass is even being considered an option
