There is a perfectly good southern route which is logical and far less of damage to the area. You only have to look at other bypasses to see the infill that results as well as noise pollution/air pollution and light pollution

Upgrades to the existing road urgently needed - no need to spoil the priceless and unique environment north of Chichester we all treasure and enjoy.

A flyover over the roundabouts is what's needed not for the beautiful country side (what's left of it) & peoples private property destroyed for goodness sake!!!!!!!

I urge those considering this bypass to visit The Cass Sculpture Foundation. The bypass would interrupt the unique and contemplative atmosphere here and directly impact on the surrounding landscape and nature of the South Downs.

We need to preserve the beauty and peace of the countryside to the north of Chichester. And not surround a historical city with road. Improve the existing A27!

This will be a huge disaster for the appearance and well being of the northern area of Chichester and the adjacent villages. This was an important issue last year when the Government Inspector refused the "Daffodil Field" housing application in the Chichester - Lavant strategic gap.

This isn't going solve Chichesters traffic problems around the south of the city. It's the commuter traffic in from the south that needs to be addressed and not the much more limited east-west flows.

I am totally opposed to the plans for a northern bypass. We need to upgrade the existing A27, instead of destroying our beautiful countryside.

I think that a new road in the area suggested north of Chichester would be an eyesore I n such a beautiful area !

This proposed route will destroy some beautiful countryside and villages. Flyovers would be far better option for the traffic flow around Chichester

A Northern By-pass will devastate the countryside and inevitable lead to more infill housing development. It is a quick-fix option. Flyer overs on the busiest A27 roundabouts S of Chichester may cause short-term congestion but are ultimately politically preferable.

Not at the expence of villages and or the beautiful countryside . Use existing roads and add to these, reducing the affect on the countyrside/ farms. The existing Funtington straight runs and works well but to add or redirect this could cause problems.

It would a travesty to spoil a uniquely beautiful piece of countryside, for the sake of the motor car, which will just encourage more traffic, leading to even more roads. It would be far more sensible to improve the current roads to the south where major development already exists.
