There is absolutely no need to spoil beautiful countryside to the north of Chichester when there are other options broadly using the existing route.

A northern bypass will blight the edge of the national park, create noise and light pollution and not solve the problem for local traffic south of the city.

Let's preserve this beautiful area for future generations to enjoy as we are able to. The thought of a scarring unique countryside for a is disgraceful. Chichester is an amazing city and does not need to be boxed in with a northern bypass.

Very worried about the impact on chichester as a whole and also on the individual small areas which are currently quiet country hamlets. This will totally ruin the environment.

Upgrade the A27 - a northern bypass will cost masses in money, loss of countryside, adverse effect on local economy etc etc. Look at what was achieved in Hindead and learn.

Traffic light systems on the roundabouts would be more efficient and cost effective. It would give each entrance into the roundabouts equal time to enter meaning the queue would go down equally. Unlike now where there are so many near misses from people impatient for a gap. Put traffic lights on roundabouts and it should cut down the accidents while also reducing the queues at equal rates.

A Northern bypass would be disastrous on every conceivable consideration. Improvements to the existing A27 should include flyovers, extra lanes and clover-leaf junctions. There is ample land available and it should be compulsorily purchased at fair market value.

Chichester needs a couple of underpasses and flyovers - please don't destroy even more of the beautiful countryside - look at the hind head tunnel - it made a huge difference

Moving traffic flow from urban areas to rural areas will only increase traffic density. It blights outstanding beauty of rural areas and imposes noise and disruption upon rural communities that do little to generate the volumes of traffic that will disrupt.

Option 6, the overall scheme is to improve the A27 but there will be no improvement on the roads into the city. They will remain clogged with traffic and with all the new houses around the city it will get worse.

I have known the northern area of Chichester all my life, I cannot believe consideration is being given to a northern bypass when there is already a southern bypass in place - it would be much cheaper to put new roundabouts over or under existing roundabouts to keep the traffic flow going.
