Chichester Deserves Better

What the Chichester area really needs are improvements to the existing A27, NOT a new northern bypass

Northern bypass is a lazy, cheap idea, just as building on the greenbelt is easier than tackling brownfield sites. The environment is ruined for ever.

It will not so the local traffic conjestion and do irreversible damage to the countryside

Fishbourne resident with links to Goodwood. Completely against both options 4 and 5, which will not only leave Chichester completely enclosed but more importantly, will destroy extremely valued countryside to the North. A northern bypass would also hold extremely worrying ramifications for the Goodwood estate changing the much valued area and forever altering the motoring events the estate holds which are a significant injection of finance into the surrounding areas.

It would cut through beautiful countryside cutting Chichester off from the national Park and it does not solve the local traffic problem, There is so much traffic coming off the pennisula and Bognor.

I do not approve of this proposed bypass as the national park is an invaluable part of Chichester that we do not want spoilt or lost.

I strongly oppose plans for a northern bypass of Chichester. The improvement of the exciting A27 would be more sensible and cheaper. Not spoiling the enviorenment.

Why ruin beautiful countryside the improvementsame should be made ton the existing A 27 with flyovers

The benefits of this beautiful landscape with the fantastic sculpture park at Goodwood far outweigh the value of building a new road for cars.

The proposal for the northern ring road would be v bad for Chichester by isolating it with a circle of significant road and traffic and the area to the north of Chichester by adding more motorway. Better to improve the existing road net work by improving flows with tunnels and bridges.

Consider the Northern Bypass scheme is completely ill-conceived

fly overs over the A27 north /south routes eg to the Witterings and Bognor would free up the main road

This potential road is absolutely ludicrous and won't help anyone north or south of Chichester. We need the existing A27 improved more than this

Although I no longer live in Sussex I still visit the Goodwood Sculpture Park on a regular basis. I support the idea of upgrading the existing route rather than creating a new bypass.

It would be madness for this route to go ahead and carve a route through such important landscape to this area.

This is about saving Chichester for all of us in Sussex who love and appreciate this beautiful city

Any northern bypass would be an utter disaster

I visit my sister in Chichester regularly and am very familiar with the traffic difficulties. I totally support her feelings as a resident on this matter.

I am opposed to the northern bypass route.

I oppose the plans for a northern bypass as unfair, unnecessary and unworkable. I believed that the introduction of National Parks would do away with this kind of road construction anyway. We don't want it
