I have to spend a lot of time on the A27 because of work. If we make the road better I might be able to see my children grow up rather than sitting in a traffic jam for hours.

Do we need a major catastrophe before anything is done. Slow traffic causes frustration hence accidents

The northern alternative would simply add to the acre-age of tarmac, better design the roads we already have.

Surely it cannot be right to totally surround the Roman City of Chichester with dual carriageway, roundabouts and high vis lighting without a tangible gain to the traffic problems to south of the City.

Wouldn't be better money spent improving the A27 (Bridges/tunnels) roundabouts than just building a new road?! That's where the problem is.

I do not want Chichester to lose its character of being a small market town. A north ring road would make it like Basingstoke or Milton Keynes

This is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Improve the existing road rather than desecrating a beauty spot

Why build a new dual carriageway when one already exists? Why choose to vandalise our countryside?

The only option is to improve the existing A27 road along the southern side of Chichester, with a series of bridges / flyovers allowing non local through traffic to travel uninterruptedly,as it does passed Havant & Emsworth. Whilst allowing local traffic to leave the road into Chichester at 4 key junctions, 'Portfield retail park' roundabout, the southern A259 Bognor Road, the Stockbridge roundabout and the 'Tesco' roundabout where the A259 heads north. To propose a northern route would have major detrimental effects on the whole character of Chichester and ruin the rural aspect of the area. It would be be clearly seen and heard from the National Park, as well has having a major impact on Goodwood and all the positive attributes it brings.
This is 100% necessary!
