I am against the Northern Bypass. There are many things to improve the A27 but just one. In the summer the pedestrian crossing in Stockbridge backs up the traffic at the island in all directions.

Previous resident in Birdham, I fully agree with the present Petition that it would be terribly sad to see the new planned by-pass so close to the northern side of Chichester spoiling the most beautiful country side there, and much too close to Goodwood etc...

The improvement should include a major rethinking of the barriers which are responsible for reducing the sound levels which include better road surfaces and a lower speed limit for all traffic.

Do NOT destroy the beauty of the area around Chichester- these are quintessentially English villages and countryside and should be preserved. A tunnel or flyover is the obvious long term solution.

The northern outskirts of Chichester will be changed forever and definitely not for the better should this northern bypass be allowed to go ahead. The Boxgrove, Goodwood, Lavant, Fishbourne area should be preserved for us to enjoy today and for future generations to come.

Surely something can be done that doesn't involve another slab of Tarmac through beautiful countryside. I firmly believe that fly under and overs on the existing route would be beneficial to all

Why not put flyovers at each roundabout on existing A27 on the outskirts of Chichester

we have lived with this problem for years. rather than provide a cheap but damaging fix, we should adopt the solution which is right for the environment and which will provide a long term solution - and accept the cost. if it takes some years until it can be financed, so be it. The obvious solution to this non - engineer is a tunnel.

I do not think the northern plan would be of any help to local people. Chichester is for the local populas and therefor they should be considered first

Much better to improve current A27 than to build yet another by pass through small villages, spoiling lovely countryside.

Upgrade and improve the existing A27.
NB Look at all the congestion problems on the A27 further West e.g. Fareham and Eastleigh which a By-Pass would do nothing to address. What we need is better management of the traffic on the A27 to keep it flowing .
