Why wscc wants to destroy the edge of our National Park is beyond me. I can only think that they want even more land to build houses. They already plan thousands of houses on green fields, prime agricultural land, to the south of Chi the noise pollution, light pollution and air pollution will also be spread into the SDNP this must not happen

No comment seems to have been made about the closure of the traffic lights at Oving,Rd which is going to create more congestion, and works well at present .Better filter lanes on both sides would help.

Surely this is a no-brainer! Improving the current A27 verses building a Northern bypass that will impact precious countryside right on the boarder of a National Park and have enormous economic impact on Chichester. Improvements to the current ring road was originally approved - so why go back now?

I support the suggestion that the existing A27 should be developed to cope with all the through traffic and segregate local traffic along the American route. I believe that a northern bypass would permanently and irreparably damage the beautiful countryside, wildlife habitats and the lives of many villages. The network of small roads on the north side enable a communication between those villages and Chichester. A new bypass could not possibly be made that provided so many links and interconnections.

the A27 needs investment and maintenance. Building a bypass through an area of natural beauty is not the answer!!

The lack of investment in the A27 ( the major cross county coastal route) by successive governments for the last 20 years has been staggering. This needs urgent address. Northern bypass through a sensitive area , breaching a strategic gap is NOT the answer.

Any northern bypass would be devastating to the local environemnt, it would isolate Chichester between two very busy main roads which would generate a lot more polution than is currently absorbed. You would destroy any possibility of the continuation of the Festival of Speed and Revival meetings at Goodwood, events that bring in thousands of visitors and millions of pounds to the local economy. The wildlife and plantlife in the area would be irrereversibly destroyed, a major road along the northern edge of a very busy airfield is just asking for trouble. Not only for any aircraft that has problems but also a self generating hazard. Hot roads generate hot air thermals and wind shears, just the sort of thing you DON'T want when on final aopproach in a light aircraft! A northern bypass would be an unmitigated disaster.

It would utterly ruin the whole area. 60% of the traffic is local traffic, and the south is more built up, therefore it makes sense to improve the south, where most of the traffic is coming from!!!!
