I am against this proposal. It is not going to solve the traffic problem as most of the traffic on A27 is local. I am concerned that the green belt of the southdowns national park is under threat if this project goes ahead.

I strongly oppose the plans for a northern bypass. I do not believe that this is going the traffic problem. I am concerned that this is going to have a detrimental affect on the environment including the southdown national park.

Utterly senseless - the existing route with sensible improvement can resolve the problems without sacrificing the environmental beauty, not to mention all that will be lost by destroying the many benefits that the Goodwood estate and Charles March continues to provide commercially to the international as well as the domestic markets.

I oppose the plan for a northern bypass because the A 27 already bypasses Chichester and just needs a serious upgrade.

It's extremely short sighted both in regard to the environment and the community of Chichester to think that the northern route will be the best option. It may be the cheaper option (but that is debatable in the long term) but cheap is rarely the best choice to make and the changes that such a negative decision will make to this lovely city and the surrounding area of beauty will be immense. Not least the potential destruction of one of the most important employers in the area. The short term and long term implications for a route through Goodwood would be immense. The most logical solution is to focus on the original principles for the work. That is to improve the existing A27 and replace all the roundabouts with flyovers and slip roads. Why is this such a difficult decision? Unless of course there are hidden agenda not in the public domain!

Please push for improvements to the existing A27 Chi bypass instead of creating yet another route which would severely impact the local communities north of Chi and the South Downs National Park

The proposed northern route takes no account of its impact on local businesses, the environment and local village traffic. I find it difficult to believe that anyone who knows the area would give this proposal a moments consideration. It is utterly misconceived.

Once lost the countryside and Goodwood character that belongs to Chichester are gone forever.
Overpasses for the A27 along the existing route as in many other cities is the answer.

This bypass is a travesty of a suggestion. Support the upgrades and limit the destruction of more of our beautiful countryside. Otherwise there will soon be nothing to pass on to our future societies.
