We are anxious to sign this petition. Chichester and surrounding areas are a beautiful part of the country. Why are house owners' voices not heard. Why is their countryside to be decimated yet again. Wildlife are not taken into consideration. In our opinion the A27 should be upgraded.

As a tourist from Lancashire, I have enjoyed cycling in and around Chichester on several different occasions. This by-pass will harm your tourism offer whilst just channeling many people away from your town. The monies should be spent on making life easier and safer for pedestrians, ramblers, cyclists and users of public transport which is a better way of reducing congestion as it will also reduce pollution and increase tourism.

A northern route is prepsterous and cannot be justified on any grounds. The economic impact analysis must be laid bare for all to see as soon as possible.

Having lived in Fishbourne for many years a bypass is NOT the solution to traffic congestion in and around Chichester. A flyover would have minimal impact and probably be the most cost effective solution.

If a motorway is allowed north of Chichester this beautiful part of West Sussex will be lost forever. In time the housing sprawl will fill in the section between it and the City. There will then be thousands more cars and the traffic problem will continue. Improve and reduce prices of public transport and connections to Stations.

A northern by pass is not wanted by local people and will not benefit local people. It will ruin our beautiful countryside and the lives of those who live in and near it. This is not solving an existing problem, only causing a new and lasting one for Chichester and its surrounding communities with yet more dangerously high air and noise pollution.

The through traffic using the A27 is not enough of a problem to warrant the destruction of the rural environment to the North of the city, an area of peaceful fields and quiet lanes. Improvement is needed to cope with local traffic going in and out of Chichester and it would be better to upgrade and improve the existing route rather than destroy the rural character of the area around Lavant which I believe is now included in the National Park

If these outrageous plans go ahead, it will be detrimental for West Sussex; environmentally, aesthetically etc. I have been strongly connected to Lavant, Chichester etc, all my life, and this proposal strongly upsets me greatly. I hope it doesn't come to fruition
