I do not want the beautiful countryside to the north of Chichester to be damaged, as it will be if a new road is built here.

So do I want to carve an avenue of destruction through Lavant, Goodwood, ruining some of the most treasured countryside in the country, sterilising the Festival of Speed, Glorious Goodwood, the Golf course, the stately home and country estate, and so on? Erm, no. Who honestly thinks "mmhhh super yeah great idea chaps" incidentally?

Greatest benefit is barely 5 mins for the option that has massive negative impact on grade 2 listed buildings land and the environment. It's not worth the money

Do not spoil beautiful West Sussex by building another road through the countryside. New roads generate more traffic. Upgrading the current bypass is the sensible option that was decided last year, or so I thought .

If built, this proposal would destroy important natural landscapes. Better to improve the southern route, surely.

I love Chichester and it will be bad to create any disruptiom to a nice town.

This road will ruin the quiet and peace of a large area of the newly created national park, eg Kinglsley Vale, it will not solve the traffic problem as more roads just attract more traffic- we should have learnt this from the M25. there are other bottlenecks on the A27 eg Worthing being the worst. the road should be upgraded.

Northern bypass is the best option. The new plan will cause more traffic problems and not helpful for locals. We drive from Witterings to the east side of Chichester to school 6 days a week.

Surely there is an opportunity for a by-pass north of Chichester which will have a better end result and less impact on local residents.

Update the existing A27 with flyovers or underpasses, more than enough countryside has been concreted over, a northern bypass is not the answer.

The Northern route is the only way that both through and cross traffic can be accommodated satisfactorily.

I've been coming to Chichester for the last 30 years and it's a beautiful historic city. My family live close to Chichester and frequently visit the area. A bypass would be a waste of money as well as an eyesore. The existing road network could be improved without destroying the land around it.
