Following a chemical explosion and resulting fire in the chemical engineering lab at California State University, Long Beach, students are uneasy about attending classes in the Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) Building. According to Title 8, Group 16, Article 109 of California Code of Regulations, employers should ensure that exposure levels do not exceed the limits tabulated in Title 8, California Code of Regulations, Group 16, Section 5139.
With this being said, the students of CSULB should be informed of our exposure levels to the hazards that could have arisen following this incident.
