I am particularly concerned about active drug dealing and drug use which seems to have increased dramatically. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

There has been a big increase in homeless, alcoholics and drug addicts in our neighborhood. It’s getting worse or should I say already is. They are all over our streets. Where are they coming from? Please help us get our streets clean and safe again.

It's a daily event navigating drunks and drug addicts sprawled out sleeping in the middle of the sidewalk and no one is doing anything. I never see a cop and if I do there is nothing they will do because they are not equipt. The city is not equipt. There are no laws to keep our streets safe and clean and if there are they are not being inforced Homeless women are shopping in food stores smelling of high-filth - someone is going to catch something. Completely unsanitary! I see human poop on the sidewalk every day. Empty storefronts have homeless living in front of them. Wagama has had the same delusional man camped out in front (Bway + 29th St) for almost 2 years now. Does anyone not see this? Does Wagama not see this? Is this the new normal? There need to be shelters (outside of Manhattan) specifically for the kind of homeless. There are no shelters safe for women. We live in one of the riches cities in the world and people are completely ignoring the issue. This is a social problem. This is the mayors problem and he's had years to solve it and has done NOTHING!!!!!

Very disturbing for residents of the neighborhood and tourists to Chelsea/Meatpacking/GV. And spill over to subway stations and trains. Gotta find a way to take care of these unfortunate people and clear Our streets

It’s a huge problem & largely attributable to the incredible number of SCAFFOLDS being erected in our nabes!!! Great shelter & cheap af!! I walked around my 9 dots recently & found over 12 scaffolds within the boundaries of 19-21sts between 8 & 9 aves. That’s just too much!! I ALSO witnessed NYPD taking action on the AVENUES BUT NOT THE SIDE STREETS (hmmm) and was concerned actually for the treatment bequeathed upon those being shooed awayfrom their makeshift shelters.....no, it’s not ok to squat AND the CITY MUST address it, however it DOES need to take into consideration the humanity of those who are in need & have nowhere to go or lack resources to figure out what to do about it. Social workers should accompany PD on these outings, I believe.

I am a native NY'er and haven't seen things this bad in my lifetime. Not only is this a quality of life issue, but things are dangerous and unsafe for all.

If nothing is done, the problem will quickly get worse, especially with rent and medical expenses rising faster than wages.

We found someone passed out in our vestibule a month ago. This needs to be a priority in our neighborhood.

I live on 11th ave at 28th street. 28th to the Hudson Greenway is disgusting and more dangerous each day. Please do something!

What's happened to the neighborhood? My children are scared to live here. I step over drugged out, mentally ill people and the police won't do a thing since "homelessness" is not a crime. Maybe our mayor should pay attention to what's happening in NYC.

The homeless and drug culture has reached a high. I’ve not seen it so bad in 20 years. Please help. Thanks

Drug dealers in Washington Square Park add to this problem.
