The increase in the number of homeless people on 8th avenue in Chelsea is absolutely shocking! What happened? Why the sudden influx. I use an app called Citizen and EVERY DAY there are multiple assaults on 8th from 14th to 23rd. Put an end to it!

Whether due to the homeless or not crime in the area seems to have increased substantially. Not only does the crime concern me for my safety, but our area has many elderly people who live in the Penn South Coop.

I have lived in Chelsea for 13 years and now feel very unsafe walking around on my own and especially after dark. If something is not done about these homeless people, drug addicts and prostitutes I will not be renewing my lease in March.

I do not feel safe asking my wife or children to walk our dog in Chelsea on 23rd St, as there are numerous people who need help, but are left to fend for themselves on the street. They need help, as they are endangering themselves and potentially others.

I am all for streets being safer and cleaner. But not sure how police can solve this. The shelters are full, drug rehab facilities inadequate. City's long term policy is ludicrous, by placing homeless families "temporarily" in hotels at cost of $3000-$4500 per month.

Homeless issue on NYC streets needs to be addressed . A very dangerous situation is existing and brewing more every day.

Please do something about the homeless and drug situation along 8th and 9th avenues 20- 23rd. It no longer feels safe especially at night when walking alone.

For the safety and security of all NYC citizens, the homelessness issue has to be dealt with asap. We do not want to go back to the NYC of 1970's. This is an issue across the city, not just Chelsea and the West Village. Thanks.

25th between 7th and 8th. With all the scaffolding up, once winter comes, walking under these may be dangerous as this where many homeless shelter in the winter.

I have lived on 7th Ave near 14th St for 30 years. Never has it been this bad, this obvious, this overrun with homeless. Please help these people, and please help our neighborhood.

This situation is unacceptable! NYers work hard and pay a huge amount of taxes. We shouldn’t have to move our families because this administration wants to decriminalize everything that keeps this city livable & safe.
