This petition is to express to the Michigan Department of Corrections Parole Board that Carlos A. Evans is no criminal. He is a good father, son, big brother, neighbor, friend and mentor to many people and he is a strong positive influence and touches the live of many. He is a hard worker and takes pride in his good deeds. Carlos is a contract employee for Ford Motor Company and he is also an installer for Montgomery Video. When he does not have work at either of those places he picks up side handy jobs from painting to helping people move, he does it all. Often on those side jobs he would take other young men with him as a way to teach them and for them to earn money. Mr. Evans helps keep his block clean by encouraging those young ones to join him as he cleans the fields and abandoned lots on the block. He is passionate about how the neighborhood looks and pleads the children not to litter. Carlos is highly respected for his morals, and his wisdom. Please consider the man that Mr. Evans his and not just what the report says or his previous misfortune.
People change. Carlos is not the same person he was years ago. He is a hard worker and deserves a fair shot at life.

He helped me move last summer and refused to take full pay because he said I was his neighbor. Real stand up guy who does way more for the community than people know.

Carlos is a good man. Ive seen him working and helping out the block. He keeps the younger guys focused on doing right and staying out of trouble. Let him come home.

Such a waste keeping him locked up when he does so much for the neighborhood kids. He was always cleaning up the lots and telling the boys to stop acting up. Come on now.

The parole board needs to look at what he does now. He taught my nephew how to paint houses and keep his head up. Need more guys like him around here.
