I live my daughter and family making us a household of 6 on almost an acre. What better way to teach my grandchildren responsible animal care and organic food harvest? 2 species taking care of one another!

We would love to have chickens in the yard. Our family members have them in other cities and they have loved the experience. Their children have learned so much about raising them and about the benefits of them. I hope this works. It's ridiculous they are not allowed.

We would love to have chickens in our backyard. We had them in Minooka with no problems. Our kids loved them and they were great with the bugs! If coops are an issue, create an ordinance for coops like you do for out of service vehicles....

As long as people follow the rules/laws they should be able to keep a few chickens, in my opinion.

Minooka and other neighboring towns allow it, so seems odd that Channahon doesn't.

I don't see any reason why we can't have chickens. As long as they are kept on the owners property and taken care of, they should be allowed.

I had them and they wher better and quieter than all the neighborhood dogs.
I was forced to remove them. Most of my neighbors didn't even know I had them because they wher quiet.

As a farm kid in the past, I had both ducks & chickens. Fresh eggs are great.

It is crazy that people cannot do what they want with their own land if it is not harming anyone else property.

Village trustees should vote on a simple resolution allowing all poultry or fowl with no restrictions. Leave the restrictions to the HOA or smaller organization

I don't think I would have the time to care for chickens but wouldn't mind at all if my neighbors had them. I think it would be great for the kids in the neighborhood!
