I don't see the big deal if there is a limit, being caged properly and no roosters. A lot quieter than most dogs in a fenced yard and healthy

I'd rather hear chickens than dogs people leave out barking all day

There is nothing better than fresh eggs! It's a great lesson in responsibility for kids too!

Chickens make wonderful pets. They are quiet animals, too!

If Chicago can have chickens, why can't Channahon?

Not asking for roosters, not slaughterhouses, and not 100's per acre. This used to be a common practice for many americans. Hens can be clean and very quiet with lots of positive social benefits for the community.

As long as just chickens and are taken care of...cleaned up, proper vetting, housing, ect I see no issues.

Pro-chickens and anti-burning leaves.

I would rather have a neighbour with chickens then a neighbor that won't pick up after their dogs. The smell is awful.

One of the reasons for moving to a more rural area was to be able to have more use of your land and less restriction. As with any animal or pet, chickens need to be maintained but there is no reason to ban them town wide.
