I like a lot of the ideas in this, and I think this is a good place to start. growing and changing the SCA.

It's time to fix the BoD level of accountability

I would propose a few changes 1) Each Kingsom selects two board members (for 4 year terms), with elections of each offset by two years 2) The Board can define an executive comittee of at least one member from each kingdom that could make emergency decisions outside the normal meeting cycle. Decisions of this nature would be reviewed in the next full session.

Decision are taking to long the board may be taking on to much for the amount of decisions that they have to make

Change is imperative and positive. This proposal is a good jumping off point, from which adjusts can be made, such as Rain Laurel's youth activity comment.

I see the need for more voices from all kingdoms, for equitable representation at the Society Level.

there should be some sort of office for youth activities, there are far too many instances of children being bullied with no chain of command to go to for help, and far too many instances in the past of people with criminal pasts in charge of youth activities, and too many teens being dropped off at events with no parental oversight. there needs to be a chain of command and clear instructions on the proper care and guidance of our youth.

It’s time. The current system is seriously in need of overhaul.

Inclusion had better start working both ways! Regardless of mundane political sides. As a victim of harassment, hate lists and constant biased enforcement of the bullying rules, after almost 30 years of supporting the SCA and earning my peerage I have stopped paying for membership until the situation is resolved.

Some kind of rethink of the BOD seems long overdue.

Transparency is in desperate need. The current optics are terrible.

I am a Laurel, a Pelican, and former landed Baron of Carolingia. This Society must improve its operations and learn to be a more transparent and accountable entity to its membership. Organizations like ours are failing all the time in these current times, I believe change like this is necessary to survive.

I agree that 4 years is too long. I would like to see a 2 or maybe 3 year term.
