The laws put in place to protect children have turned into financial witch hunts for local state and federal governments to benefit from the misfortunes of non-custodial parents. The fact is that there should be something in place for the non-custodial parents that are missing in action, but there is nothing in place to protect those who work hard and establish relationships with the custodial parents for the well-being of the children, which is what the mission of Child Support is supposed to be about. I’m wondering, where did we go wrong? It seems like the non-custodial parents, who are usually the father’s have no rights at all, and they are being subjected to an all time low at a time when stress is heightened in the absence of work capable of providing safe and stable housing and the ability to meet their basic needs. The reality is that child support has provided income for local states and governments through incarcerations and license suspensions. The well-being of children is not being considered when putting ACTIVE non-custodial parents in jail. If the mission is to monitor, enforce, and review support obligations, then why are non-custodial parents forced to pay the original established amounts when their job situations change? And, then they are being penalized through additional interests, thrown in jail, and their licenses are suspended for situations that are out of their control. We at www.ccepinc.com are in the process of taking action by working on coming up with solutions and provisions for job loss and quicker resolutions to modifications for the parents that are not running from their responsibilities. Please sign our petition and spread the word in order to improve our Child Support System...
