Dear Mr RamGopal Verma,

As you might know, Bezawada (which is Vijayawada now) has a rich history of several hundreds of years.  

It is also known as Vidyalawada, and political/cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh.

There were so many great leaders from the Bezawada area (Krishna district) such as Pingali Venkayya, Ayyadevara Kaleswara Rao,KL Rao,Dr. Bhogaraju Pattabhi Sitharamaiah,Mutnuri Krishna Rao, NT Rama Rao,Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, who has contributed to whole Telugu population in AP as well as in other Telugu speaking areas including independence struggle.

With such a great reputation and history, we don’t want our city to be tied to few individuals in the recent history with a nasty title.

We believe in freedom of speech, but that should not at the cost of other's feelings. If we let this happen, someone might come up with another title such as Bezawada Dongalu or some other insulting titles in the guise of freedom of speech.

Vijayawada being the face of Krishna district, the title is trying to insult the whole district, not just the great city of Vijayawada.

Hence we , NRI's from Krishna District and Vijayawada area strongly request Ram Gopal Verma to change his movie's title and respect the feelings of people of Krishna district and Vijayawada and offer unconditional apologies for creating pain in the hearts of millions of people who take pride in their city/district.

If we don’t see the movie title changed with immediate effect, we warn that issue will be taken to highest court of the land and also we will not let RGV to set foot on Krishna soil for rest of his life for the sin of insulting us.

Friends, let us take this as an opportunity to make sure no one in future takes un-due advantage of the past for their commercial interests.
