Our towns are encroaching on the territory of our wildlife and large carnivores. As developments expand, their food sources disappear. It is our duty to ensure the survival of our wildlife, not wipe it out when these creatures move closer to our environment. I do not want my tax dollars used to kill off wildlife. Find a better solution!

Totally agree with the the intent of this petition. We humans, especially conservation officers, take no corrective action before resorting to killing predators. I know of one specific incident near my home where a young cougar was attracted to the area because home owners were feeding birds but attracting a whole food chain. For a young cougar just learning to hunt, what better place to go for a meal. The Conservation Officer said not one word about changing habits, not feeding birds, and/or not putting out garbage early. He just trapped and killed the cat. Absolutely inadequate and unsatisfactory response. And claiming it's just protocol only makes it worse.

There are clearly options available to needlessly killing wildlife.

There were better options than simply killing these innocent creatures.

We are in their habitat, and encroach on it more and more every year. These "large carnivores" deserve another chance.

Education to reduce fear, increase safety for wildlife and humans and pets, learn to live with them, examine every "expert" statement and government policy with skepticism - "can't be relocated", "habituated", "euthanasia". Demand change in attitudes - compassionate conservation

I whole heartedly agree... There should be other solutions put in place than killing out right... They have every right to live in this world as we do, if not more so...

BC needs to get out of the dark ages in terms of trying to manage wildlife.

I agree our wildlife management strategies are not sustainable. We need to find a better way to live in harmony with other species and expand our idea of 'community'.

I support this view. We need to ensure there are efforts made to save these wild animals.

Deplorable that anyone thinks it is okay to kill these beautiful animals. :(

I total support this petition. It's not the animals fault. In my opinion it's the people's ignorance that leads to senseless, unecessary death to these cougars doing what comes natural to them. Shame on the Humans.

Wildlife mis-management is an ongoing, serious problem that MUST be addressed in this province!
