Change to the Large Carnivore Policies and Procedures Public Safety Protocol

Major problems for wildlife are now in the works with Tolko clear cutting entire Grizzly Bear, Black Bear, Elk, Moose, Deer, Bob Cat in the Monashee Mountain Range to Revelstoke. This Clear Cutting will mean Death to many of these animals because they will have no choice but to invade human domain. Stop the Clear Cutting, leave the forest for the animals that live in these forests.

This shouldn't have happened. People need to make it uncomfortable for wild animals to be around populated areas.

Humans need to learn how to live safely and responsible with these Apex predators, not destroy them for living their lives and trying to survive.

We need to put empathy and money back into conservation. Our solution seems to be kill when we should be looking at any other alternatives we can. We are the voice for these animals and we are letting them down!!

Beautiful Supernatural British Columbia is disappearing slowly but surely. Wake up and stand up before it is too late!

I am relieved to know that i was not alone in my shock and dismay to hear that this family of cougars were shot, without a crime committed, or judge and jury to hear the case. It bewilders me that people still take their dogs into the bush with them (the equivalent of tying a porkchop around your neck) and then when dog is attacked by a bear or cougar (who can blame them?) the wildlife pays the price. The same goes for leaving "pets" outside and then when they are approached by wildlife, kill the ,wildlife. I am notunaware that these cougar were in close proximity to humans, possibly a threat, but could not measures be taken to relocate them? Why kill them? We really need to give our heads a good, brisk shake!

These lovely creatures need to be preserved not killed because it's cheaper and easier than tranquilizing and move them. Killing innocent animals is just wrong. The policy should be tranquilize and move immediately, not wait until something happens or till someone decides to just shoot them!

British Columbia should be at the forefront of wildlife conservation, not adhering to 19th century ideas and practices.

Large carnivores perform an essential function in healthy ecosystems. Obviously at the moment they are much less safe from us than we are from them. We can do better!

These 3 cougars should have been moved... not killed. There has been too many of these beautiful animals killed in the last few years. It is the human population that is moving in on their territory.

Relocation should always be a first option!

We do not want to live in a dead environment devoid of wildlife!

There is a lack of funding for proper conservation and the wildlife we live beside is suffering. There are better options available! The destruction of a full family unit of Cougars is terrible and all wildlife deserve a fair chance at survival.

The so-called wildlife conservation officers here only work to conserve their own hides. It's pitiful and shameful, especially for a country that prides itself in cherishing and protecting its environment. Genuine concern for animals and surroundings should be mandatory for working in this department.

Please review the protocols and procedures to ensure best practices are in place and are being followed. We try to teach children to love and respect nature, not kill it out of fear,

There's got to be a better way than killing our wildlife. More accountability is needed!

Time for Conservation Officers to return to Conservation Officer School to relearn the meaning of Conservation. Used to be that such animals were sedated and moved to areas better suited for their habitat. What happened to that approach? Time for humans to give these beasts a little slack. We, after all are the ones invading their territories.

This is long over due , we're not living in the dark ages !
