Change to the Large Carnivore Policies and Procedures Public Safety Protocol

Murdering a family of cougars in the name of "human safety" is pure BS. BC's animals deserve better treatment and a LOT more respect.

As long as we keep pushing our wildlife out of their natural habitat, situations like this will keep happening. Yes, public safety is most important but so is our wildlife !!Relocation should be automatic, not death !!

I completely support this. Cougars are nearly extinct and only mate every 2-3 (I think). It is our duty to BOTH ensure public safety and preserve wildlife.

I feel that our communities should have better methods in place in dealing with wildlife entering populated areas. Killing the animal should be a last resort.

Sprawling urbanization, encroaching upon & destroying prime wildlife habitat and destruction of wildlife in the name of progress & management of wildlife. Barely a century ago nobody 'managed wildlife' but still it managed to thrive for millions of years.

It is long past time to support rather than to continue the betrayal of non- human animals. Going vegan is the best support possible to all animals.

Protect OUR wildlife! NO more indiscriminate killings!

Those are magnificent animals and there are other ways of managing them without killing them. Killing animals is not the answer every time a hungry one wanders into an urban area.

Persecution of cougars is outdated and should stop, they need protection.

Yes, human safety is important but that should not mean that wild animals are automatically killed for being in the "wrong place" . Relocation is the only humane answer. At the rate we are killing wildlife, one day the only place to see them will be in zoos. UGH

This is very important to protect our animals we keep taking over their territories and then we kill them when they encroach on their own territory

We need to take every measure to protect our rich natural history including key predators who are essential to their precious ecosystems. Relocation is just one of the humane methods possible.
