I absolutely agree. The red snapper season should be longer since the stock is obviously rebuilt and to allow for bad weather days.

We routinely release up to ten mature red snapper while bottom fishing out of Charleston.

30 days should be a minimum for the Atlantic coast. We should be asking for a 75 day season.

As a diver with a degree in Marine Biology and knowing the life cycle of the Red Snapper front to back to not lengthen the season is an absolute smack the face of the recreational angler. They are more prolific than I have ever seen in my 30 years of diving off the SC coast.

5 days before the season is pretty damn late to start a petition. Better luck next year but heres my signature anyway

There are plenty of red snapper! Grouper fishing is almost impossible because the snapper eat the bait before grouper ever get the opportunity

SC needs to have more than 1-2 days for snapper season. The current rule is ridiculous.

There is no way safmc can possibly handle the size of the Atlantic that they’re attempting. It needs to be divided. In SC we fisherman travel 40-70 miles offshore to fish, there’s no possible way our fishery sees the same pressure that Florida does. We can NOT have the same rules that they do.

We need to be able to keep at least one fish when we want to or need to every day of the year. The limits I perpose aren't crazy and shouldn't hurt the population to the point of extension. Hope someone with the right position sees this.
