stop telling girls to cover up their bodies so that boys can focus. Teach the boys to respect women and keep control, girls who like girls have know problems when it comes to a girl wherein girls short shorts so u don’t think the clothing is the problem here.

it’s not fair to put the blame on girls. it’s literally a pair of shorts that make sports easier to participate in. maybe teach the boys how to control themselves and stop being sexist. it’s fair for the boys to be able to practice without a shirt but girls can’t wear a simple pair of shorts to play a sport. plus it’s so much easier to play volleyball and even do cheer in spandex. let girls wear what the want without making it sexual. it’s a sport. wackkkkk

it's so much more comfortable to where these than shorts. And it's much easier to move around in.

The shorts could be longer. It's like booty shorts, even cheer side. Ya that I have a problem with,... my teens butt cheeks hanging out

It seems to me there are two flaws with the new dress code:
1 - safety. I see stunts going wrong, lots of jammed and broken fingers and wrists
2 - ironically, the new dress code actually makes it easier to look at the areas it is attempting to cover.

These girls are athletes and work to perform at a top level. When they are judged based on their “ outfit” not their athleticism we teach them they aren’t valuable as an athlete. These girls wear spandex not to be provocative, but to be the best athlete they can be. The uniform provides the most safety without hindering performance. Loose and baggy clothing has led to injuries, especially when stunting.

They are shorts. For sports. Train your children to not look at women like a piece of meat if this is truly an issue. Sportswear is not meant to be sexualized.

I understand your position, but can there be a compromise? Such as the longer length spandex?

Compression shorts are a safety issue For cheerleading. Discussion over the subject would be welcomed since it benefits all of our children.

I urge the administration to consider SAFETY when making a decision about cheer apparel. After an extensive search of cheer protocol, the AACCA safety rules stated that cheer uniforms should cover the midriff when standing at attention. For safety reasons, during stunting, proper safety mechanisms must be established. Therefore, the athletes performing the stunts must be able to manipulate without hinderance or difficulties. The spanx material is a SAFETY mechanism. As a parent, I am very concerned about the SAFETY of my child. I pray that you reconsider and investigate SCIENTIFIC studies that support the use of proper apparel for SAFETY.

As a parent of a cheerleader, my concern for her safety when participating in stunts due to inappropriate attire is a priority. Many sports, men’s & woman's, have tight fitting uniforms for the purpose of improved performance. It seems 2 sports are being singled out with this dress code change.
spandex are my life
CHANGE IT NOW!!!!
