I believe that any dog who hasn't bitten anyone should be given a chance for reinstatement. If it's a dog who has caused damage, they should be banned. However, a puppy or dog who had a bad day and didn't want to be shown, should be excused and given additional chances on another day.

It just makes sense to give the dog a chance. Many times a judge comes at a dog, startles it, and it takes many months of getting the dog to understand no one is going to run up to it. Had happen with my 7 mo puppy, judge was over 6ft, and hovered over the pup. Of course he didn't know what that guy was going to do. Give it a chance.

Dogs can have bad days. I do not believe that one single person or incident should decide a dogs fate in the show ring. All cases should be judged independently. Possible warnings then to a committee.

A judge who is good at what they do should be able to see into the mouth to be able to count teeth. Missing teeth stand out like a sore thumb. No need to continue crawling into a large breed month to count teeth.

One person, whether it be a Judge, A Dog Trainer, or a Vet, should never be allowed to be Judge and Jury! In showing it should NEVER be one person that decides the professional fate of a dog. There is not another sport, amateur or professional, that allows this. Time to get rid of the politics in this sport and let every dog be judged on merit. It is reasons like that that I will not own a show dog - only pets. I also believe Judges need to be held accountable for their actions/behavior in the ring as well.

Agree, there should be a panel of a minimum of 3 judges. I disagree w the option that reinstatement can be blocked, and certainly this decision should not be made by only one person. If truly the dog is not solid enough to be reinstated, it will be obvious.

I feel that this should be looked at and when a dog bites that should be a DQ. But if the dog needs work and not biting it should be handled differently.

Feel these judges need to go back to the old days where they were less hands-on and touchy-feely there is no reason for a judge to crawl in a dogs mouth or pop a dog on the end of the nose After they examine them .

I agree that dogs that have DQ'd for bad behavior once in conformation should get a second chance. These are also dogs that should also have a chance to go on and compete in obedience.
