No one Judge should have this final decision. There should be 3 at least & an appeal process allowed.

Dog should not DQ for bad be behavior but put down in standing if he is behavior it be a bad day for the dog.so if there are 5 dogs he b place 5th

Most of the dogs can get startled. All the smells, and sounds, then to be groped by a stranger who may be wearing cologne that's offensive to.the dogs. Really a one strike ruling on a non bite incident is truly not the answer.

Keep up fighting for the rights of these dogs and owners. Get the AKC's unbelievable CRUEL rules AND BEHAVIOR changed to represent what these dogs and handlers stand for! Have d work, dedication, respect, loyalty..... All the things THEY ARE NOT AS FAR AS I CAN TELL! THIS ANGERS ME.

A club member had his puppy DQ'd at 8 months old...stupid judge. He did get a CGC with this pup to no avail... not fair at all!!!

There needs to be a fair appeal process, in front of judges who were not responsible for the original decision. Since a dog cannot verbally explain or defend their actions, they need to be given the opportunity to prove their temperament before an unbiased panel. Under the current system, if an unfair decision is allowed to stand, the AKC could very well lose any future entries from that exhibitor, and possibly their friends and family members -- something the dog show world can ill afford at this time.

There are many reasons a dog backs away from a judge or gets spooked in the ring. Judges with excessively long nails, heavy perfume, heavy smokers (no I won't take up the habit desensitise my dog) heavy handed, tooth fairies, weather issues. AKC needs to look at the difference between excused for unable to examine, and attempted to bite.

Seriously, This isn't rocket science. Anyone who has any experience with dogs can attest to the fact that things happen, they are dogs. I'm sure not one of these dogs was foaming spinning around with their eyes rolling back in their heads and spewing pea soup (that may date me). And I have been in the veterinary field, good dogs have bad days just like everyone of these judges.

It doesn't seem fair that one judge could totally disqualify a dog from all shows unless it is proven to be a danger. The only exception is if it actually bites a Judge.

One judges opinion should not carry that much weight. One incident does not make a bad dog.
