IPP is the justice system's dirty little secret. An unfair tariff that was misused by judges and must be scrapped now.

They have served their time. Let them free. This is like holding them against their will. The justice system should be held for abduction of innocent prisoners once the time is up

IPP sentences are quite frankly a disgrace. Everyone on those sentences should be entitled to a release date, the mental impact of IPP is insurmountable. The IPP sentences have been abolished so why arent the remaining prisoners sentenced under IPP given a chance for a release date. It is not fair for the individual and I'm sure even more soul destroying for their families. Honestly the whole CJS needs revision, there is little research suggesting prison even works for reducing crime and we need a more human approach to criminality that takes into account a hollistic approach. But any steps to make prison more humane for the people subject to them need to be campaigned for.

I feel when young prisoners have served a lengthy sentence they should be given a chance to come home on some sort of conditions

This was, and still is, one of the most evil and stupid acts passed by Blair's government! The results need sorting NOW, not years down the line!

How can they show they have changed if they have not been given the opportunity. Everyone deserves a second chance

This is a social experiment that's has become a tragedy. So many have lost years from their lives unnecessarily.

To many lives been destroyed by this archaic law now change it and give people their lives back and hope.I have seen to many sentenced punitively to justify a law that penalises people for misdemeanours that probably warranted a lesser sentence or some who are innocent ,that no justification for this system to continue.Already know it isn't working,so remove it and the stain on the justice system and give freedom back to families and there loved ones you have treated appallingly with this obsolete law
