Please sign to have the Ministry of Transportation increase the penalties for those caught passing a stopped school bus. The penalty should be increased to that similar of the "over 50 km"rule. Ifa vehicle passesa stopped school bus the following penalty should be imposed; immediate 24 hours impound of vehicle, immediate 24 hours suspension of drivers license and $500 fine. Subsequent offenses would result in longer suspension / impound times and an increased fine. Children should be able to travel on a school bus safely and not having to worry about a driver passing the stopped bus because the driver is on "auto-pilot".
Why wait for another injury or death before we increase the penalties?
