Change the PDGA Policy on Eligibility for Gender-Restricted Divisions

Last year I tried watching the Superbowl, but the damn tv kept changing channels to a damn monster movie. I changed the channel back to the Superbowl, but the tv switched back to the damn monster movie. Now I know it was my ass hole son with his controller screwing with me. We both kept hitting our controllers, the picture disappeared on the screen and the tv starting jumping. The picture never came back as we both kept hitting our controllers, then the tv exploded! That explosion hurt!

Its an unfair advantage

All athletic programs- not just disc golf- are making a grave mistake by allowing hormone levels to be the determining factor in gender protected eligibility. I fully empathize with the unique challenges transwomen athletes face, but taking away gender protection from 99% of us in order to grant gender protection to 1% of us is not an equitable solution. If allowed to continue, these policies will eventually destroy the intent of gender based athletics, in every sport. The PDGA can, and should, lead the effort in acknowledging men and women are inherently different and that chromosomes, not hormones, is where the distinction should be made. The IOC is making terrible decisions; the PDGA doesn't have to follow suit.

i dont have a good solution, but i do believe that having male born competitors in a female division defeats the purpose of gender protected divions.

Obvious reasons.

Have transgender only tournaments. This will solve the problem.

Identity & biology are different. For example: Even cosmetic surgery will not initiate menstration in a transgendered person. Therefore, a third competitive division could be for those who are transgendered. Or transgendered persons should compete in their born biological league.

I am not opposed to them competing but the correct way to address it is to give them their own division for non binary or trans players.

Pdga get it together. I have not renewed my membership and won't as long as this stands.

I was told to trust science, so I will. The current IOC standard that the PDGA has used as a guideline is that an athlete is eligible after one year of hormone therapy. Studies have been done that have shown this to be inadequate, and that because of inherent muscle mass and bone density inherent in biological males, trans females do retain a significant advantage. Very unequal playing field. This will only get worse if something isn't done to protect the FPO division.

As a beginner woman, it's already hard to compete against women who have played much longer. There is no way I would have a chance against the male structure - even after the full transition. Changing "MPO" to mean "mixed pro open" would benefit the born male gender but not the born female gender. Having a "TGPO" might work though.

I agree, let them play in their own division.
