The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) currently has a policy that allows transgender women (male to female) to compete in gender- restricted divisions. The policy is not in the best interest of cisgender women. Transgender women are born male which gives them an advantage in sports performance.
The current PDGA policy attempts to eliminate the competitive advantages transgender women have by requiring hormone treatments or gender reassignment surgery along with testing testosterone levels. This method falls short of eliminating the advantages of being born a male. Currently a method to prove all competitive advantages are eliminated does not exist.
The PDGA needs to reevaluate the current policy and come up with an equitable solution for both transgender women and cisgender women.

we are almost at 100 signatures which is a huge milestone for us. lets keep pushing to hit that number before the day is out so we can show the pdga we are serious about this.

I will not be a member or participate in any PDGA event until the transgender policy allowing men to compete with my mother, sisters, and future daughters in the women's divisions is changed.
We need to protect natural born females and the unseen challenges they may be facing on the course that transgender do not. PCOS, menstruation, osteoporosis, pregnancy, menopause, hip problems from relaxin hormone after giving birth, and many others.
Changing yourself to one gender or another does not change your tendons and bone structure. Male Physique with a female title does not make you competitively equal to a born female body structure.
However one identifies themselves, there are certain physical realities thar are unavoidable. Should a 21 year old be allowed to compete in the 65+ category because they identify as a retiree? What is the purpose of having skill, age and gender protected divisions, anyway?
If your gonna have a protected FEMALE DIVISION then it should be protected for biological women ONLY I have no problem with transgender ppl wanting to play competitively I just feel like there should be a protected division solely for them such as a TPO DIVISION
I applaud the PDGA for effectively banning transgender persons from the FPO division for major tournaments. But not doing the same for all gender protected divisions creates a double standard that is simply not sustainable, and will surely be challenged in court. The PDGA needs to double down and extend the same rule for majors to all tiers.

There needs to be a better way. Age and gender protected divisions were created for a reason. The mixed and open divisions are always available to everyone, without restrictions. There is a place for everyone.
