Current policies for Eastern Canadian Ringette Championship do not clearly state whether a male athlete is eligible to play in this tournament.

Since January 2026, we have been advocating to Ringette New Brunswick to seek out approval from the other Provincial bodies that make up the ECRC's committee to allow a male athlete to be included on the roster of an ECRC eligible team.

Since January 2026, RNB has only responded with reference to Ringette Canada definition of the requirements for a male division at ECRC when all along our request was to have 1 male player play in the female division.

Though this matter is important for all - we are seeking this approval so that our son - who has played ringette for 4 full seasons now, has competed in tournaments in all 5 ECRC represented provinces (NB,NS,PEI,On,Qc) - can continue to play the sport that he loves - at the level of play that matches his skill.

If you believe that the ECRC committee should allow a male athlete to play at ECRC's in the female division since there are no male ringette teams or divisions available to him, we invite you to sign and share this petition with others.
