On behalf of the many volunteers who helped create the Ed Austin Dog Park, there is one man, who stands head and shoulders above the rest. Without him, the dog park would not exist! From the very beginning John Roberts championed for this park, and has worked thousands of hours, doing hard labor, by himself, digging tubers and clearing the land.

We request the City Council change the name of the dog park to the John Roberts Dog Park, to honor his tremendous service to our community.

I spent the morning walking the perimeter and honestly it just feels wrong seeing that sign up there when everyone already knows John did the heavy lifting. People keep stopping me to share stories about him working in the mud with his shovel and it really confirms we are doing the right thing with this request.

About time he gets some credit. I saw him out there every single weekend working while everyone else was at home.

Give the man his due. He built that place with his bare hands.

He literally dug the dirt so our dogs have somewhere to run. Change the sign.

The park wouldn't even be there without him. Ed who? John is the one who did everything.

John put in the real work here. Most people just talk but he actually got out there and cleared that land. Rename it already.
