Change the law to develop Brownfield sites for Housing

It's appalling that this land is just being left neglected when it could provide housing for the people of Romsey. Using this land too would remove the need to use greenfield sites - sites that need to be kept for the benefit of people's health & wellbeing and to protect wildlife.

Fed up with this eyesore on our door step please build here rather than greenfield sites that destroy local wildlife corridors

Oh to see the site developed such a waste of town space & an eyesore as it stands empty gathering weeds.

This site is a real blot on our lovely town and it is long overdue for much needed housing

Why are you using an American petitions site? Use the UK parliament site if you want action. This petition is important and you want parliament to take it up.

Totally disgraceful behaviour by the developers. The law needs changing.

This space within Romsey should be used for housing and green space - it is a massive area and would be an asset to the town.

Please take action.

Build on these brownfield sites instead of taking our valuable green spaces and destroying the wildlife habitats

I don't suppose they are, but Stanborough's should be ashamed to leave this valuable resource as an eyesore in the middle of town for so many years.

Although I don’t live in Romany I would say that that this bot the only place that this happens and it is completely wrong especially since we keep hearing that there is a house shortage. But definitely not on greenfield sites.

The unacceptable face of capitalism, known as land banking. Weak government terrified of upsetting the house building fraternity. Another example of the market ' not working properly'...

There are so many abandoned buildings ripe for conversion but our green countryside traps more profit for fat developers

The law does need to change. We are developing on too many greenfield sites when hundreds of brownfield sites remain unused for decades after being bought up by developers for pennies. These companies should be fined heavily if they do not develop the site in a timescale set by the local authority in which the site sits.

It’s important to use brownfield sites first

This derelict site is a blight on Romsey town centre when there is much need for affordable homes in the area. It has been like this for 30 years now and no sign of progress!
