Burns was a proud Scot. He was proud of his Country, proud of his heritage and prolific writer of Scottish poetry. In none of his poems did he claim to be British, an He was the National Bard of Scotland but his Scottish poetry is loved loved and respected throughout the world by the many people who celebrate Burns night as an important part of Scottish history. It is an insult to his memory to have the flag of the United Kingdom as an icon for Burns Night, which is a celebration of the life and works of a proud Scot who has left a wonderful heritage for Scotland and the world. It is only fitting that the Scottish flag should be used.

Using the union jack icon instead of the saltire to mark the celebration of Robert Burn's birthday is an insult to everyone in Scotland and out national Bard. Even people who want us to remain in the union would deem that to be inappropriate

Robert Burns was a patriotic Scotsman who was entirely against the unholy union of Britain. He would be spinning in his grave if he knew that the union jack was representing his legacy. Give Scotland back its Saltire!

I would like facebook administrators to recognise that Scotland is a country without independence and that we have our own holidays that are not celebrated in the rest of the UK such as Burns Night, Wickerman Sowe'en Hogmanay and St Andrew's day please remedy this on your celebrations sections
