GHS Class of 2015. Tradition isn't a valid excuse for perpetuating harmful, racist stereotypes! It's high time that we make this change.

I am a Guilford resident. Guilford cannot truthfully state that it is not currently engaging in systemic racism as long as we maintain and celebrate a racist mascot. We, as a community, have undoubtedly excluded others due to this racist, offensive, and unnecessary symbol for our town.

I'm embarrassed to say I'm a "Guilford Indian." We need a mascot that makes EVERYONE proud and unites us.
