Like what has been said before; please just acknowledge this mistake and its failure. Please just go back to the old way. Before this change was implemented, someone really should have remembered the old adage; "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I was confused as to why my son, who kept getting 100 on every week end test, couldn't get a 3 and the answer was that he cannot get a 3 until he masters all the words by the end of the year.

This report card is a disgrace. It promotes mediocracy. It does not motivate children . They know they will only achieve a 3 just like the child sitiing next to him/her.

Being in the second year of school with my kids, I never quite understood it. Wished it would go back to that standard A-F that we grew up with.

The Middletown Township elementary school report cards are , in a word, disgraceful. It does nothing to motivate children to achieve. I hope common sense can find it's was back to the grading system in Middletown elementary schools....before it creeps it's way into the upper grades!

I would really like to see teacher spending their time on the comments section of the report card. There has not been a comment on either of my children's report card since this new system was adopted.

My daughter was the first class to use it back in Kindergarten & I hated ever since then. I want to old gradeing system of letter grade or precentage. We already get laughed at by starting on the 10th of September instead of the 2nd or 3rd. Why not make us more of a joke to every other school district in the state.

we all know what will happen when a kid comes home with an F but 1-4 is a little confusing at times. It seems all the teachers have told me you really can't get a 1 in the 1st marking period. why not? i don't get it.

The report cards do not reflect the students' achievements in class and do not motivate them to continue their hard work.

The current report cards do not motivate the kids to improve. It does not recognize achievement.

As they are right now, the report cards are worthless.

It's a huge jump in many ways, to go from 1,2, 3, E to A, B,C in middle school.

Please make this change... it is impossible for a parent to figure out the baseline of knowledge their child has if most kids get a 2 in the early semesters.

Agree 100%. Especially dissappointing when there are no comments to accompany the report cards. Report cards have become meaningless and provide very little helpful information.

Imperative that this reporting system is revised.

My experience with the current report card grading system in elentsry school was pathetic! My daughter could not relate to the grades and was very angry.

Thanks for initiating this much-needed discussion! I agree that the report card system has to change. Even if the 1-3 or E grading scale has to stay, students should still be awarded a 3 or an E at the beginning or middle of the school year if they excel in that area. We as parents should know what our kids are great at as well as what areas they need to improve upon. If they're all 2s until the end of the year, it's a generic way of grading and says nothing to both the student and parents. There's got to be a better way!
